2011 Summer Trips Announced
It may seem like just yesterday that we departed for Colorado on our Mission Trip, or for New Orleans for the National Youth Gathering.  But it's already time to start thinking about next summer's trips!

The YMLT has decided on two awesome trips for our youth, each one chosen because of its particular emphasis.
2011's mission trip will give our youth an opportunity to serve right in our own "back yeard."  From June 19-24, we'll head up the road to Austin for a week of service projects, and an awesome time connecting with youth from across the country.  Our youth will still get away, but will come to realize the opportunities we ahve to servie right here in Texas!

Our other trip will be a new one for us.  Higher Things is an organization of Lutherans committed to encouraging our youth to value their Lutheran faith.  Their motto is: Dare to be Lutheran, and this conference will help our youth understand why the Lutheran faith is just as important today as it ever has been.  From July 10-17, we'll head north to Illinois State University, in Bloomington, for this awesome gathering.  Our youth will gather together with up to 1,200 Lutheran youth from across the country for worship, study, and fun.  And...since we'll be so close to St. Louis, we'll use an extra day to give our youth the "Lutheran Experience," see our seminary, the LCMS headquarters, and other historical sites.

What's On Your Schedule?
We want to know what you're up to!

Mt. Calvary's youth are some of the busiest people around.  Not only are they busy with school and homework, but many of them have jobs as well, and they're also involved in numerous extra-curricular event.  We have athletes, athletic trainers, and musicians in our youth group, all of which are busy during Friday Nigh Lights in one way or another.

Do you play football, volleyball, or one of the upcoming winter sports?

Are you in band or choir, performing in a musical or some other extra-curricular activity?

Do you look up oin the stands, wondering if anybody will be there today to watch you play, to hear you play, or to enjoy your performance?

And does it make your day when you see someone make to your activities?
